Diamond City Hotel, 3430 Tulln

Historical building site revived - M&S Architekten have planned a 3***plus hotel with 78 rooms on the site of the former fire brigade school in Tulln.

In the historic old town centre of Tulln, directly on the Danube, we were inspired by the views and vistas towards the town and the Danube. With a plot division, space was created for two residential buildings next to the hotel. The new hotel is set back from the neighbouring Minorite Church and together with it forms an urban square. The hotel is designed for trade fair visitors, seminar participants and also Danube cycling tourists.

For the façade design, we took up the traditional window flaps of Tulln's old town houses and reinterpreted them. The plaster facade has a rough broom finish and glitters in the sun, in keeping with the name of the new Diamond City Hotel.

For the operator, a quick implementation with opening for the golf season in May was essential. Together with the general contractor, we managed to build the hotel within a construction period of only 12 months. The rooms are equipped with high-quality box spring beds and real wood floors and surfaces. The open bathroom concept with the walk-in shower makes the rooms appear more spacious and bright.
